Making old furnitures New
I keep shifting cities either for education or for work. Every time you shift in a new house, buying suitable furniture always sounds interesting but while shifting they make huge luggage. To avoid that I generally buy old furnitures and try to give them a make over to suit the ambiance for my home.
Here is how I made a very old wooden box into a new and lively stool.
Get your favourite colours and let the imagination flow. I painted the whole box with a single base colour and then drew patterns on all the four sides.
This is how you make the seat of the stool. Foams are available in various thickness, get a suitable one from a home furnishing shop.
The brand new stool is ready!!
The new colourful stools looks good in the garden too. And is liked by kids as well as adults.

Similarly, I painted this very old wooden rack. The person I bought this from says its almost 15 years old. I really appreciated the quality of the wood that was used. It almost looked new after painting and added a very colourful ambiance to my kitchen.
Use Kites for decorating empty walls
My friend Neha (her blog) used kites for decorating the hostel room at our design school. We saved some of the kites after the “Kite Festival”(in Gujarat, India) getting inspired by her, I thought of using them to decorate the empty walls of our home.
Kites, sequins, some mirror pieces, marker and that’s all you need to give a colorful beautiful look to those empty walls.
Fill those walls near the stairs with Kites.
Use you imagination, create beautiful patterns and decorate the kites.

can you tell what brands of colors did you use to paint the stool. Did you use the acrylic paint / fabric paint available from hobby ideas or camel ? Or did you use oil based enamel paints like Asian paints?
I have a similar project in hand and at a loss on which kind of paints to use. If you tell me how you prepped the table before starting to paint, it will be of great help
It’s Asian enamel paint. I just used the paint directly on wood. No prep required. The paint is still intact in the stool after almost 3 years of painting.
